Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Their house bread and dips are winner. The calamari starters was very fresh, the salad a bit basic. The mains were nothing short of flavourful . I also loved the pastries they organised for the celebration! Definitely coming back for dessert. The vibe of the place is also cute cafe with ready-made frozen goods you can take home.
Wow wow wow - what an absolutely fabulous taste and feel of Italy. Really quality food and welcoming and professional team. Highly recommended!
If you want to eat high end Italian food, this restaurant is the place to go. Service is great, food is spot on delicious and the atmosphere is nice. I recommend to reserve a table no matter what day as it gets crowded all the time. It is a bit pricey but the quality is excellent. Restaurant has a deli as well where you can buy ready made meals, pasta, antipasti and bread. And home made gelato: hazelnut and pistachio are to die for.
We were looking for a good Italian restaurant and Tortellino d’Oro came up as one of the best traditional Italian restaurant. The place has a really nice setting, white tablecloth, roses on the table, perfect location for a date. We’ve ordered two starters and three mains. Starters were delicious! As for the mains, the saffron risotto is excellent, the mushroom tortellini is good but the cacio e pepe is the worst pasta I ever had. No resemblance to the original cacio e pepe, almost no sauce, just thin pasta covered in lot of oil. Sadly the tiramisu was a disappointed as well, almost no coffee flavor, ladyfingers were very soggy and the chocolate shaving on the top was a bad decision from the chef. Overall if you choose the right dishes you can have a decent meal.
Amazing place, I can say Thembi and Professor were great the food was phenomenal. I was shocked at the cost of the Mojito ( not alocholic ) R90.00, but it was delicious. What talented chefs. Thank you so much. Highly recommend. Felt like a privilege!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the beef ravioli, and it was absolutely exceptional — rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The pasta was delicate yet hearty, and the sauce was full of depth without being overpowering. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming — perfect for a relaxed but special dinner. Everything about the meal made me want to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend Tortellini D’Oro to anyone looking for authentic, beautifully prepared Italian food in Oaklands.
